Ingredients

1 cup baking soda
½ cup cornstarch
¾ cup water

6 small fresh clean leaves

Instructions

Dough Preparation

Stir together the baking soda, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan over low heat until the mixture thickens into a consistent mash.
Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.

Dough Shaping

Knead the cooled dough until it’s smooth and pliable.
Roll out the dough on a sheet of parchment paper to about ¼ inch thick.
Place one leaf vein-side down onto the dough and roll over it gently to imprint the texture.
Cut a circle approximately 3 inches wide around the design and create a hole at the top edge for hanging.

Drying

Transfer the circles to a fresh piece of parchment and allow them to air-dry for 24 to 48 hours, turning them occasionally.
Once dry, thread twine through the pre-made hole and tie a knot for hanging.
